Sun Keeper
Race entries
A no-brainer !
Alice rang yesterday to say that she had an unraced 2yo filly, going through the ring today, at the owner’s request, that she would like to continue to train, and were we interested? The Havana Grey filly, to which Alice was alluding, is SUN KEEPER. Apparently, our filly had a niggle with one of her tibias in the Spring and needed a little time off. Mid-season, when she was back on full work, she ‘tied up’ - which is a muscle enzyme condition which precludes, usually young, horses from finishing off their gallops due to muscle cramps. It can be treated and usually goes away, as horses mature.
Back in full work, now, Sun Keeper did her first piece of work back, last Friday. She worked well. She needs two more pieces of work (roughly two weeks) and she should be ready to hit the track.
She’s instant action, likely to be around for anywhere between 3 and 12 months maximum (ie we’ll sell her on in February, July or this time next year). Rest assured, we’ll only be retaining her medium to long term should she be either EARNING her corn, or MORE than earning her corn.
A great, fun, inexpensive, acquisition, (we’d have paid up to 12,000gns), who could easily pay her way.
Training Update:Her next entry has been made for Newcastle, the meeting on the 10th of April.
