WINNER 10 OF 2024: FAIRMAC, trained by Anthony Charlton and ridden by Sibylle Vogt: The 'Preis DC Aviation', over 1,600m on the heavy snow, at St Moritz.
After a 'sighter' run last weekend, it decided to snow heavily in the days leading up to yesterday's card. There was an inspection held (not something you expect on a frozen lake!) and racing was given the go ahead, although the under foot conditions were a cold version of heavy! So much so that the starting stalls couldn't be wheeled onto the track, so it would be flag starts all day.
Another delay at the start too, as another horse has to be reshod, but Fairmac was not concerned and walked around quietly. Setting off pretty evenly, he tracked the leader on the inner. Shaken up 2f out, he ran on well to take the lead with a furlong to go and was soon clear, keeping on to win by 3 lengths.

Syndicate manager Tim, says: "We love it when a plan comes together! A good ride by Sibylle - she has of course won for us twice before on Mordred, so suits our silks! Well done to Fairmac's owners on his 6th career win and to Anthony's team, some of whom are in residence in St Moritz for the three weekends of racing. He is in the big race on Sunday - the Fr.100000 Grosser Preis von St. Moritz (Grad II) so will most likely take his place in the line up. We have 8 owners and guests travelling out with our travel partners Venatours for a weekend of fun and racing - sounds very exciting!"
