WINNER 30 OF 2024: GIORGIO M, trained by George Boughey and ridden by Billy Loughnane: 'The Jewson Edinburgh Craigentinny Handicap' over 7f at Musselburgh.
His second start of the season and up to 7 furlongs, he was chalked up as favourite to win here.
Drawn to the outside it took him half a furlong to tuck in behind the leader, as they approached the bend. As they came to the 2 pole, he was disputing the lead and once ridden, moved in front and across to the rail. He stayed on well inside the final furlong, to win by 3/4 of a length.

Timeform rated it as career best 82 performance, saying: "Strong in the betting, showed the benefit of his breathing operation (also had tongue tie added here) at the second time of asking, seeing out the 7f trip well; close up, went on over 2f out, edged right, ridden out; should remain competitive.”
Billy told us after the race: "I was really pleased with him. He is learning how to race and relax, travelling sweetly. He handled the ground well and 7f is his trip, so hopefully we can be back in the winners enclosure again soon!”
